Personal Story

My name is Xavier H. Guzman and I’m 32 years young. I grew up in Cayey, a town located in the heart of the Central mountais of Puerto Rico. In the top of a mountain at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level is my farm. That characteristic gives us the ability to grow a variety of crops, including those that are dificult to grow in hot weather as a result of cool temperatures throughout the year.

Ever since I was a child, I was interested in entrepreneurship and sports because of the critical and fast desicions you have to make. Becoming an entrepreneur was my ultimate goal.

As a child I played Pro Volleyball with the Youth National team of Puerto Rico for various years, and I’ve continued to play volleyball throughout my adulthood. On June 2011, I enrolled in the Navy Seals “Special Operations Division”, until January 2013.

During the past 18 years, I’ve found a way to be involved in the food management industry, food service, and farm development. That’s how I noticed that food was a big issue in every person’s life.

I feel that it is my moment to help people get good food and spread life to the world through my life passion of growing organic food.

Business Description

Green Bar is a Farm to Table restaurant that produces locally grown wholesome foods. Our harvest is nutrient-dense and flavorful.

Our journey starts in 2013 with the opening of a juice bar named Green bar. We started selling hand crafted juices, fruit bowls and salad bowls. All the produce we use comes from our farms and other local farms. After a few months we realized that we need to move to another location for the purpose of a business expansion due to a high demand. We are in transition to get a new place. In this time we sell our produce to six (6) farm to table restaurants, farmer’s markets and Community Supporting Agriculture (CSA) program.
